Design Process

Ideation

I started with thumbnail sketches of words and images that I wanted to convey in my design. Then I made a rough sketch of a potential cover design.

First Iteration

In my first design I created a silhouette of the Monterey Peninsula. After some feedback, I realized this was a bit hard to understand, as the outline of the peninsula is not immediately recognizable by most people, and didn’t match the theme of leadership. I kept the graphic from the back cover, but pivoted from my original design.

Final Product

For my final design I made the color palette brighter to match the LMC logo and moved the design that I had on the back cover to the front. I also added a photo of the class in the background to be more on theme and changed the weight of the font to be more readable. For the inside I used the same color palette and gradient to unify the entire design.
