Gathering For Women Website
Overview
A team redesign of the site for the nonprofit Gathering For Women Monterey
Design Process
Current Site
This is the current Gathering For Women site. We started by studying the page and noting the problems with it. We spotted the following issues:
Hard-to-navigate menu
Different pages for items which could be combined
Drab color palette
Outdated design
Ideation
We began with a mood board and mapped out the information architecture of the site to visualize all of the pages we would need to create. We decided to go with a bolder color palette to give the site a fresh and modern look.
First Prototype
We played around with different layouts, wanting to create something completely different from the current site to put our design skills to the test. In this lo-fi wireframe, I was conceptualizing a scrollable sidebar with large images aside from the main content of the site.
Final Product
After prototyping, we created our final design in XD. We took elements from our original iterations such as bold-colored text boxes and large statement type. Our final prototype evolved from our first iterations and lived up to our visions of a sleeker, more user friendly site.
